New Age Caravans - Leading the Weigh!
New Age Caravans have invested in their own weighbridge system, at a cost of tens of thousands of dollars. The weighbridge, pictured below, measures both axle and towball weights and is used to individually weigh each caravan to give the exact weight with selected options.
Many caravan manufacturers use public weighbridges which generally weigh in increments of 10 or 20kg and results can be "out" by as much as 100kg. The New Age system measures in increments of 2kg. The company also recalibrates the scale every quarter - far surpassing the minimum legal requirement for weighbridge calibration of once a year.
New Age Caravans ensures staff are kept up to date with changes to regulations, advances in technology and the knowledge of how a caravan is weighed correctly. Great care is taken to ensure that every caravan that rolls out of the factory is diligently stamped with the accurate weights.
Owner Joe Barrasso said, "Safety is of a prime concern to the company, a non-compliant caravan can cost lives and with those stakes there just isn't any room for guessing figures."
The scale also prints a report with all required calculations in order to eliminate any human calculation errors.
